On this final day of 2009, I want to take a moment to thank everyone who has encouraged me in my work as a writer. 2009 marked the start of a new adventure for me. I decided to pursue writing as more than just a hobby.
Part of that was a decision to locate and join a good group of Christian Writers. After looking at several organizations, the one I chose for my first membership was ChristianWriters.com. That decision, I believe, was led by God. I have found more then camaraderie and information and advice on writing. I’ve found there a collection of Christians from all walks of life and all points on the globe who share two things: The love of God & Christ and the love of writing. They have been a wonderful source of help and inspiration in the last twelve months, not to mention more than just a little hard advice and frustration! Thank you, fellow CWers!
My family has been supportive, too. From Neal, my much loved husband, to Mom and all my brothers and sisters. Even when they think I’ve gone off the deep end, they’ve never faltered in offering support. Neal, especially, has a way of cutting through the murk and gloom to show me what’s really important in life and in writing. Thank you!
My church family learned of this ‘used-to-be-secret’ habit in early November, when I asked prayers for my first year of participation in National Novel Writing Month. I still get requests for updates on that novel. If nothing else, their continued interest and question-asking is helping me get over shyness about talking about the story in particular and writing in general. It has been a valuable experience. Thank you!
Most important of all, all thanks and praise to my God and Father, without whom I would have neither life nor talent nor the Hope of hopes. Praise God from whom all blessings truly do flow. Amen.
